How to choose a software coding course

There is a huge emphasis on how we can encourage more women and young girls to take up a career in tech, but as we have previously discussed, there often isn't very much guidance on how to get from point A to point B from an education level.

We are seeing more and more women getting into tech later in life through coding courses. Coding boot camps offer a great way to get into software engineering, but each course tends to focus on different languages. How do you choose the right course for you? Which language is going to be best for the career you want? With business tech stacks being so varied we thought it would be a great idea to put together an event with speakers from some of the best coding courses available in the UK - this way we can hear first-hand what each course can offer and the careers paths that tend to follow.

The Wednesday 22nd June 2022 event featured speakers:

Efua Akumanyi – CTO – Coding Black Females
Jessica Silva Carvalho – Full Stack Developer & Lead Teacher – Le Wagon
Natasja Laurie – Software Engineer - Million Ads & Lead Instructor - General Assembly
